Heavenly movement unfolds in absolute synchronization, operating without the need for any external commands. The driving force behind this motion is the will and purpose of God [רש״י, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The living creatures travel exactly to the place where the divine will directs them. This happens effortlessly and automatically, without God having to speak a word, because His spirit rests entirely within the creatures. As a result, their own desires become completely identical to His [רש״י, מצודת דוד]. Another perspective suggests that this movement follows a fundamental spirit and natural law established at the very dawn of creation [מלבי״ם].

When the living creatures elevate themselves, the wheels rise alongside them in perfect equality and exact coordination [מצודת ציון, מצודת דוד]. Even though there is no physical connection linking the wheels to the creatures, they travel together seamlessly to every destination [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The secret to this unified motion is that the inner spirit of the creatures—whether viewed collectively or as distinct individuals [מצודת ציון]—is firmly rooted within the wheels. The will and active power of the creatures operate directly from within them [רש״י, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The relationship between the two is much like the bond between a soul and a body. The spirit of the creature serves as the animating soul of the wheel. Through this profound connection, the spirit can elevate the wheels beyond their ordinary natural boundaries, driving them with deliberate choice and intelligence [מלבי״ם].
