A mighty roar of wings and a great commotion fill the prophet's vision as the Divine chariot moves. This intense noise is not merely a physical event in the sky; it marks a dramatic spiritual and historical shift in the world.

As the chariot flies, the wings of the heavenly creatures forcefully touch and strike one another. [רש״י] notes that this powerful striking produces a song, whereas [רד״ק] views the rapid beating as proof of the chariot's incredible speed. The entire movement happens in perfect coordination. The sound of the rolling wheels perfectly matches the motion of the living creatures, moving together in parallel harmony ([מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]).

Beneath the sights and sounds lies a deeper symbolic reality. The noise of the departing wings and wheels serves as a painful sign that God is removing His presence from the people of Israel ([מצודת דוד, אברבנאל]). [אברבנאל] explains that the movement of the creatures represents the loss of angelic and spiritual protection. At the same time, the movement of the wheels symbolizes the loss of positive natural and heavenly influences, leaving the nation entirely exposed and unguarded. Offering a different perspective, [מלבי״ם] sees this movement as an expression of Divine providence stepping outside the normal laws of nature. The creatures receive supreme power in their wings and bring it down to earth to cause upheavals, stir up nations, and change the course of kingdoms.

The vision ends with a massive, deafening noise. While this can be understood simply as the combined roar of the chariot moving away, it also points to an approaching disaster. The great noise serves as a warning of the Divine power descending to the world to bring war and shock ([מלבי״ם]), or it represents the shaking of the entire earth as it faces the future destruction of Jerusalem ([אברבנאל]).
