יחזקאל, פרק מ״ג, פסוק ה׳

The visionary journey reaches a new and elevated stage as the prophet is drawn into the heart of the Temple alongside the revelation of the Divine Presence. Previously standing at the gate of the Temple Mount [מצודת דוד], he is suddenly lifted and carried forward. This transport is not a simple physical movement, but rather the force of the spirit of prophecy taking hold of him [מלבי״ם, אברבנאל].

Up until this point, the prophet's progression was directed by an angelic figure with the appearance of copper, who actively brought him from one location to another. Now, however, as the glory of God and the divine chariot are revealed, the nature of his experience shifts. He is once again lifted directly by a spirit, mirroring the exact sensation he described during his very first vision of the divine chariot [רד״ק].

The spirit of prophecy brings him into the inner courtyard, where he witnesses the glory of God filling the entire sanctuary. This total filling of the space signifies that God has returned to rest His presence within the Temple. Because the Divine Presence has fully returned, a direct channel of communication is reestablished. Prophecy can now flow out to the prophet from within the Temple itself, much like the way God once spoke directly to Moses from the Tent of Meeting [אברבנאל].
