יואל, פרק ב׳, פסוק כ״ז

Joel 2:27Sefaria

וִידַעְתֶּ֗ם כִּ֣י בְקֶ֤רֶב יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אָ֔נִי וַאֲנִ֛י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם וְאֵ֣ין ע֑וֹד וְלֹא־יֵבֹ֥שׁוּ עַמִּ֖י לְעוֹלָֽם׃ {פ}

The ultimate redemption brings a profound shift in how humanity experiences God. Praise for a distant, general providence transforms into a clear, deeply felt awareness of His immediate presence. This is not merely an intellectual understanding, but a constant sense of wonder and direct care, marking a future where the bond with God is complete and eternal.

The people will come to a deep realization that God watches over them closely, actively hearing their cries [רד״ק] and shielding them from harm [מצודת דוד]. This awareness will grow so powerful that they will recognize a fundamental truth: without His glory dwelling directly among them, their abundance and blessing simply could not exist [אבן עזרא]. In that future time, God will no longer guide the world through hidden, natural means. Instead, He will lead through a constant, miraculous presence, intimately walking among His people [מלבי״ם].

From this closeness comes the absolute certainty of God's exclusive authority, completely negating the existence of any other power. This realization exposes the gods of other nations as entirely useless [רד״ק] and permanently uproots any urge for idolatry among the Israelites [אברבנאל]. Furthermore, it reveals that the laws of nature and the movements of the stars no longer dictate human events, because God now orchestrates everything directly and miraculously [מלבי״ם]. Absolutely no force in the world can prevent Him from pouring out endless blessings upon His people [מצודת דוד].

The assurance that the nation will never again face humiliation is not a mere repetition of past promises, but the direct result of this new era of faith and divine protection. Because they hold firmly to their faith and know with certainty that God is right there with them, disgrace becomes a thing of the past [אברבנאל]. No enemy will ever be able to stand against them or cause them shame [מצודת דוד]. More deeply, this promise heals a specific historical pain. It cures the shame that stemmed from the absence of God's manifest presence, a lack deeply felt during the era of the Second Temple. In the end of days, His presence will return in absolute perfection, restoring the people to their ancient greatness and removing the fear of eternal shame forever [מלבי״ם].
