The way these individuals are physically recorded on parchment and publicly read involves unique traditions that illustrate the absolute defeat of the enemies of the Jewish people. Unlike other biblical songs that are written in a staggered, brickwork pattern, this list is stacked in straight, vertical columns. The connecting words are perfectly aligned one above the other, and the names are stacked directly beneath each other. This creates a narrow, unstable visual structure, symbolizing that these enemies have no broad foundation to lean upon and will never rise again [תורה תמימה].

This vertical alignment directly mirrors the physical reality of their execution. The brothers were all hung together on a single, remarkably tall tree, positioned one beneath the other, with the first son hanging at the very bottom [תורה תמימה]. Furthermore, the vocal tradition requires the reader to recite the entire list of brothers in a single, continuous breath. This rapid recitation signifies that their souls departed from their bodies at the exact same moment [תורה תמימה].

Regarding the meaning of their identities, the primary approach among commentators is that these are simply Persian names.
