The priests who serve in the Temple are granted specific rights and gifts, which include partaking in portions of the sacrifices and receiving dedicated property. When the Israelites bring their various sacrifices—such as grain, sin, and guilt offerings—the priests are permitted to eat from them [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. While the concept of the grain offering is generally straightforward [רד״ק], in this context it specifically refers to the remnants left over after the primary portion has been offered [מצודת דוד].
Beyond the sacrifices, the priests also receive items that have been sanctified and set apart as dedicated property [רש״י, מצודת ציון, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. It is emphasized that absolutely all dedicated property in Israel will be given to the priests. This complete allocation points to a unique reality in the future. Historically, property dedicated to the Temple was divided into two distinct categories: portions given directly to the priests, and funds reserved for the physical maintenance and repair of the Temple building. However, in the ultimate future, God will build the Temple Himself. Because He will be the builder, there will no longer be any need to gather funds for structural upkeep. As a result, every piece of dedicated property will be transferred entirely and exclusively to the priests [אהבת יהונתן].
