After a prolonged dialogue, God brings the discussion to a definitive close, commanding Moses to set out on his mission immediately and without any further hesitation [קאסוטו]. Despite Moses' physical limitations, God promises him intimate divine assistance that covers both the physical act of speaking and the actual content of his words.
God guarantees comprehensive support for Moses' speech, though commentators differ on whether this includes curing his speech impediment. One approach suggests that God promises to repair Moses' vocal organs [ספורנו], healing him completely so he can speak with absolute clarity [חזקוני]. A more specific view argues that this assistance will be provided exactly when needed: whenever Moses speaks to the people about their redemption, God will grant him a flow of beautiful words and temporarily remove his speech difficulty [העמק דבר].
In contrast, another perspective maintains that God never intended to heal Moses' heavy speech at all [אבן עזרא]. On the contrary, Moses is chosen specifically because of this limitation. When he delivers clear and accurate messages, it will be obvious to everyone that his speech is an open miracle driven by God's power, rather than his own natural talent [מלבי״ם]. Ultimately, this guarantee represents God's constant, close accompaniment throughout Moses' mission [ביאור שטיינזלץ, קאסוטו].
While the initial promise addresses the physical ability to speak, God also ensures that Moses will have the right content. God promises to reveal hidden stores of wisdom, Torah, and scientific knowledge [שפתי כהן], granting Moses the exact understanding needed to know what to say [העמק דבר, ספורנו].
The nature of how God provides this content is understood in two distinct ways. The first compares God's instruction to shooting an arrow; God will aim and place the precise words directly into Moses' mouth, hitting the target perfectly [הדר זקנים, מלבי״ם]. The second approach compares this process to pregnancy. Rather than simply handing Moses a script, God creates something entirely new within him [הדר זקנים]. In the highest form of learning, God plants a spiritual concept directly into Moses' soul. This idea then takes root and grows naturally within him as a complete, living organism, much like a child developing in the womb [רש״ר הירש].
