וִישַׁבְתֶּ֣ם בָּאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם וִהְיִ֤יתֶם לִי֙ לְעָ֔ם וְאָ֣נֹכִ֔י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

A profound vision of complete restoration promises a future where everything returns to its rightful place [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This future reality combines a physical return to the ancestral homeland with a renewed, mutual connection with God. The promise of physically settling the land is clear and straightforward [רד״ק]. However, a historical question arises regarding the assurance that this territory was originally given to the forefathers. In reality, Abraham did not take practical possession of the area and even had to purchase a burial plot with his own money.
