Divine justice operates with exact precision, matching a person's reward directly to the purity of their actions and intentions. God rewarded David for his deep honesty, his innocence, and his careful avoidance of sin [רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This moral integrity became the solid foundation of David's enduring kingdom, standing in sharp contrast to the royal house of Saul, which faced total destruction [רד״ק]. Furthermore, God grants this reward in a generous manner, treating David's righteousness as if it were achieved entirely through his own independent strength [אלשיך].

God intimately knows and examines David's true intentions and actions [רד״ק]. This level of divine attention is fitting, as David directed his righteous behavior solely toward God, completely free from any desire to boast or show off to other people [מצודת דוד]. A perfect symmetry exists in this relationship. Just as David kept God's laws constantly in front of his own eyes, God now keeps David's pure actions constantly in His sight [אבן עזרא]. By consistently choosing to walk in God's ways, David ultimately secures a unique level of divine kindness and salvation [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
