In fact, the narrative intentionally understates his true capabilities, subtly hinting at only half of the wicked warrior's actual strength. Because there is a fundamental principle against praising wicked individuals, his full power remains unsaid. The warrior's spear shaft was exceptionally thick and heavy, far exceeding the proportions of standard weapons [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. However, this overwhelming burden of heavy gear came with a tactical disadvantage.
