Ahaziah, the son of Ahab, did not settle for a single sin. Instead, he gathered and combined all the wrongdoings of his predecessors into his own personality and actions. His spiritual corruption was drawn from several distinct sources.
First, he followed the path of his parents, King Ahab and Queen Jezebel [רלב״ג, ביאור שטיינזלץ, אברבנאל]. From his family, he inherited and continued the practice of idol worship, specifically the service of Baal. In addition to his parents' legacy, he also held tightly to the ways of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, maintaining the historic calf worship of the Kingdom of Israel [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
There is broad agreement that this combination of paths reveals how Ahaziah united all types of idolatry, leaving none out. By engaging in every available form of false worship, he deeply angered God and led Israel into absolute sin [אברבנאל].
